DSL and Surge protector.?

I be wondering if connecting a DSL phone line through a surge protector would slow the speed at adjectives? (even just an tiny bit)

Wall => Splitter => Surge Protector => Modem

Thanks for any warning :)

DSL and Surge protector.?

It might, devices like that are not designed to transmit the DSL singal cleanly. Also if it extend all along the copper that the singal pass thru to over 15 ft it will affect it even more. If you really want to know though, call upon your ISP and ask them to run a line assessment, then plug it into the devices and enjoy them run it again and tell you if the signal get weaker.
nope, makes no difference to mine.

and it's to be sure worth doing, even people who use a surge protector for D electricity don't realise a power surge can easily also come through the phone flash to fry the modem / router / network card too.
nope nearby would be no effect on the data speed, surge protectors with the sole purpose detect sudden current spikes, not data, so its risk-free.
yes.. just because it have to go through something else basically to get connected.. but... your not going to see any change.. it doesn't make that much of a difference
Just have the surge protector connected won't slow it down, but if you have extra rope coiled up that may cause some interference.
