Hard drive type?

how can you detail if its sata or ide

Hard drive type?

SATA have small plug in, IDE uses a ribbon type cable
An IDE drive have a larger connector than the SATA. The smaller cable is supposed to allow for better air flow and possibly better verbs speeds.
IDE type hard drives own a larger connector slot for a flat ribbon cable while the SATA type has a much smaller connector slot for a red cable next to 2 black connectors.

If you decide on a SATA complicated drive, make sure your motherboard have a SATA connector, otherwise you will have to purchase an adapter card.
Hello Jon f

According to the previous answer the behind the times ide is bigger beside its no more produce , coz in a minute most new frozen drives are sata ,

Simply look at the cover and read it and you will know .
