Hard Disk Problem?

My HD is out of commission suddenly. When I tried to open it, it say that it is corrupted or unreadable. What do you think is the problem and is it possible to retrieve my files inside?

Hard Disk Problem?

If this is the HD that's holding your operating system your best bet is to find a LIve compact disc or Pre-installation Environment disk to run a disk check.

Live CD resembling Ubuntu, Knoppix and etc... are free. A Live CD is vitally a Linux operating system that will run off the disc; so nothing is if truth be told installed on your computer. With a Live CD you'll know how to view any of the files that are still retrievable.

You can download Ubuntu at Ubuntu.org. It supports both Mac and PC so you should be alright.

Good Luck,
