Computer permanent status?

how did the word mouse come give or take a few that moves around on your computer instead of bein called rat?

Computer permanent status?

The first name mouse, coined at the Stanford Research Institute, derives from the resemblance of early models (which have a cord attached to the rear member of the device, suggesting the idea of a tail) to the adjectives eponymous rodent.
I think the first few computer mice be likely of the buff or white variety, which would more closely resemble a physical mouse (or at least what associates immediately imagine). Rats usually are see as large, hold dark bodies and pink, wrinkly tail. Plus, the word 'mouse' sounds cuter than 'rat'.
The mouse was invented by Xerox, as be the GUI.
Because a mouse is quicker.
