Ok here is my problem. A few days ago i be taking checking my heatsink and fan because the cpu be running hot and in the process of putting the heatsink and lover back on i accidentaly broke the clamp. I be able to fix the clamp, so presently the heatsink is clamped down pretty good to the processor. After this i tried to boot the computer stern up, but nothing loaded. I be pretty sure that the cpu didnt fry because i have a p4, which is made not to fry itself. Anyway i realize there wasnt any more thermal on the processor so i go out and bought some more thermal and applied that, but the problem still exist, so i took off the processor to see if any pins be bent or it was in reality fried, and it looked normal. The sturdy drives load alright but the processor never loads up. Could my motherboard be broken somehow or what could be my problem?

Computer will not boot up?
You could hold fried the motherboard while checking the heatsink
wow thermal is very inportant. you might own fried the cpu
Buy a new processor. Your strange thermals didn't solve your problem.
Do you get a series of beep when it is attempting to boot? The number of beeps will inform you the nature of the problem ie video or memory etc. If you do not bring back any beeps next it just might be the board. Even scrape the mb accidentally can render it useless, and it sounds like you did more than that.
Or you may enjoy changed the CPU settings so that it runs at a different speed that it cannot handle.
You did plug the power cable back into the mb right?
Hard to right to be heard at this point. These are my suggestions.
