when the workstation starts up i want the list of what starts up so i can turn bad what i dont want
in the RUN PROGRAM
Do you know what i type contained by the RUN program?
If you are running Windows XP, that would be services.msc (safer) or msconfig (less safe). The first is safer, as that inteface have some protections against terminating services that are system critical, but the second list some items that are not in the first, so it's a upright backup.
EDIT: service.msc mainly give you access to processes that start up *before* you log in. msconfig includes items contained by the startup directory found in the Start Menu. These can also be removed only just by deleting the links contained by the Start Menu. Many processes will be located in both interfaces, but services.msc will provide descriptions, whereas msconfig with the sole purpose provides paths and name.
sysedit
go to start, run; and type msconfig.
sysedit
regedit
msconfig
There may be more
Type contained by msconfig then dance to startup.
EDIT: I see people own posted other things. Those have NOTHING to do near startup. ONLY use msconfig.
