Difficult nouns of my 3.5' Ext firm disk.?

I bought this storage rock-hard disk 2 years back, i find it difficult to connect to my PC not long. I need to try several times formerly i can get it detected by my PC, Can anyone push for me on this problem i had? It be 160 GB HD, and now it is roughly 75% used.

What OS are you using? Some OS does not support Large Hard drives...Let me assume you are using XP or higher...



OK...Let me also assume its a USD connect.



There could any be a break in the USB cable or maybe it does not fit properly in the usb port...Check OK..



About the size: For two years presently it is likely you hold used that much space. If you still believe you havent used that much space then do a disk clean-up: That is Right click on the drive within My computer>Properties> Disk Clean-up



Options1: Clean up old system files, temporal record



Option 2: On the Other tab clean up adjectives system restore puts except the last one.

It is also possible that the USB connection on your computer is getting fruitless. I have this same problem beside my older tricky drives within an USB stall. I opened it up and found that one of the IDE wires be messed up. I fixed it and it works a lot better immediately, but still have problems from time to time. Also take home sure the drive is powered before you plug it the USB cable.
